Notes: Physical > Touchscreen buttons for task completion under time pressure.
The Swedish magazine found that the 2005 Volvo far outperformed the modern, infotainment screen equipped cars, with a driver completing all four tasks in just ten seconds and 1,000 feet traveled.
The organic compound in OLED displays has a limited lifespan and still comes with at least some chance of permanent burn-in — even if it’s barely a factor on modern high-end TVs.

Notes: Jerome Powell articulates the importance of Fed independence
An excellent and forceful speech by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. He defends the Fed’s independence but clearly and directly argues that the only way that deal can be credible is if the Fed stays out of big political issues.
A Dutch supermarket chain introduced slow checkouts for people who enjoy chatting, helping many people, especially the elderly, deal with loneliness. The move has proven so successful that they installed the slow checkouts in 200 stores.
